Club Dnipro Fire

On the 2nd Feb 2005 the Hall at the Ukrainian Cultural Center in Manchester suffered a tragic fire which devastated the hall. The sequence of events below explains what happen that day and in the following days thereafter.

Last members of Pensioners Lunch club leave the building and staff finish tidying up in back bar and kitchen

Fire discovered as burglar alarm is set off in Hall and fire service is called by Roman Sawczuk, Administrator of AUGB Manchester

Fire brigade arrive with approx 5 minutes

More units of Fire brigade arrive and fire fighting of Hall begins

Police block off Smedley Lane to traffic and 2 ambulances arrive

Chairman of Social Club Bob Sopel arrives at Fire
